To empower HIV-positive women by improving their health, economic stability, and social inclusion, while fostering a supportive community that addresses stigma, gender-based violence, and systemic barriers to equality and well-being
The National Network of Positive Women Ethiopians Social Health and (NNPWESHAD) evolved from the National Association of HIV Positive Women in Ethiopia established in 2005 which to reduce HIV transmission and socio-economic impacts among positive women’s. NNPWESHAD leadership and capacity strengthening of member associations led to the formation of a national network. In 2024, NNPWE rebranded to NNWESHAD to better address the socio-economic and health needs of women living with HIV/AIDS across Ethiopia. Currently, with 33 constituent member associations, the Network objectives focus on HIV care, PMTCT, women's empowerment, GBV prevention and response, income-generating activities, and cervical cancer screenings, significantly improving lives through health, economic, and advocacy initiatives
